To understand the core needs and wants of the populace, Dubai’ The Model Centre (under the Executive Council of Dubai) took up the unprecedented task of measuring the One goal pursued by every person on the planet: Happiness. Using Pink Tank’s research skill and Punch’s creative acumen they thus created the Needs and Expectations Study Report.

But how do you visualize happiness? How do you put a scale to a concept that is challenging to even measure in the first place? After much contemplation (and a peek out of our window) we realized that the answer stood right in front of our face: the Burj Khalifa. A towering ambassador of Dubai’s prosperity, the Burj’s beautiful edifice was graphically interpreted into scalable bar-charts. This seamless creative connection gave birth to a clean platter of infographics that were appropriated all across. The resultant report book was evocative and relatable to every stakeholder of Dubai, from government officers to small business holders.
